LCC 2114G - Science, Technology, and Modernism
This class examines a cross-section of the scientific and cultural ferment in the West in the first part of the 20th century. We will treat the period as a time of general cultural paradigm crisis provoking new forms and models, or new languages and dialects of representation, through a range of cultural sub-paradigms. The course materials are a mix of theoretical essays, scientific writings, and elite and popular artistic works.
