Great weekend of climbing. Driving home on Sunday I took a back road to enjoy the light, and as I rounded a bend I saw what looked like a huge bonfire, which odd for a windy and dry day. After taking a few photos it was obvious that it was a structure fire separated from the primary house. With no cell service, I drove up and pounded on the front door, and then hearing a radio on in the burning structure I found an open door and checked inside as far as I could get. I then went to several neighbors honking my horn and eventually found some people around the bend who were home and called it in. We all returned to see if there was anything that could be done while waiting, but the external spigots were off and the house was well secured. We cut the house power off in preparation for the fire crews, and also had to cut the house gas service off because the generator started. The fire crews got it knocked down and despite substantial heat damage to the little shed at the top of the hill nothing else caught.
