The camera exposures doesn't tell the whole story -- it was only late dusk when we headed down the road off the mountain, as I think it would be foolish to leave after dark if you didn't know the area really well. As the web page says, there is one spot near the beginning of the dirt road that's quite difficult to navigate in a passenger sedan, but you can at least take comfort in my statement that it's much easier coming down than going up. It's hard to describe and will probably change with further wear, but the rutting in the road was such that failure to make it up wouldn't result in a T-bone or side slip, but rather just some skidding. It's mostly just steep and bumpy, and would be fairly easy in a truck or 4wd. Regardless, the trip was well worth it.
